What You’ll Do
As Head Pastry Chef, you’ll take the lead in:
- Maintaining Excellence: Uphold and enhance our reputation for premium-quality baked goods and pastries.
- Team Leadership: Foster a high-performing, collaborative kitchen culture and mentor team members to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
- Recipe Development: Innovate seasonal and permanent menu items, creating flavours that delight and inspire.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily production schedules to ensure all sections are prepared with fresh, high-quality products.
- Monitor storage and hygiene standards, maintaining a pristine kitchen environment.
- Prepare work rosters aligned with business needs and performance goals.
- Strategic Growth: Drive preparations for 7 day trading and contribute to the business's growth as we expand into a multi-site operation.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A qualification in Kitchen Production and Management and extensive hands-on pastry and baking expertise.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef, Assistant Pastry Chef, or Chef de Partie in a patisserie, bakery, or restaurant, with a strong preference for French pastry experience.
- Proven success in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills, with a knack for inspiring a team and managing operations efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and occupational health and safety standards.
- French language skills (preferred but not essential).
